![]() ![]() With their last breath, they succeed in killing the Omega. ![]() This ends the war let’s explain this a little more.Ĭage and Rita, with the help of the squadron, land up in Paris and plan an attack on the Omega. The ending of Edge Of Tomorrow indicates that Cage is now the Omega in the alien network and has reset to a point well before he’s being taken for battle. There is not much explanation for this device but it helps locate the Omega based on the Alpha’s blood in Cage. Rita and Cage now choose an alternate strategy to find the actual location of the Omega using a device. When the moment arrives, Cage escapes the Omega’s trap by drowning himself and resets to the previous day. She once could reset too but lost the power because her blood was drained. Now, this has already happened to Rita in the past. The Omega plans this trap for Cage in order to capture and drain his blood, which will remove his ability to reset. It purposely gives Cage the vision of a fake location to itself. Little do they know that the Omega identifies Cage is an infiltrator in the alien network. Edge Of Tomorrow: Cage’s Visions Of The Omega The rest of the movie sees Cage and Rita plotting various strategies to get to the location of the Omega, which comes to Cage as a vision in his dreams. Rita notices that Cage sees the future she too had that power once, so she asks Cage to go meet her when his day resets. So now, every time he dies, he resets back to the start of the previous day. The blood of the Alpha on Cage gives him the power of reset too. The poor humans are unaware of this, and they run towards their imminent deaths. This way, the alien life-form never loses a battle. It uses this revert to anticipate the course of events and alters the attack accordingly. The death of an Alpha causes the Omega to revert time back. Cage's emergence as a soldier who actually has a fighting chance against the enemy is fascinating. GI Jane-like Rita Vrataski (Blunt), who excelled on the battlefields of Verdun, helps him understand the process. Cage can either relive the horror of an infinite loop or he must find a way to destroy the Omega and break out of the loop. Subsequently, each loop begins where Cage snaps awake on a pile of luggage, meets Master Sergeant Farrell Bartolome (Paxton) and is deployed to the front, only to die in a different manner. When an Alpha Mimic (more powerful than ordinary Mimics) is killed by Cage (who also dies in the struggle), its powers get transferred to him. With their time-control powers, they can actually learn and use the very same tactics humans themselves use, before they've even used them. The Mimics, controlled by an entity named the Omega, have taken over most of Europe. For this, he is arrested, stripped of rank and forcibly sent to the staging point at Heathrow Airport, just like an ordinary private. Cage tries to wrangle out of it by blackmailing Brigham. ![]()
